BOTANY IN BATANGAS
6:53 pm
Then again, I am not a normal 17-year-old. Collecting algae and identifying the species? WELL WHY THE HELL NOT?
Okay, so it may not be as exciting as it sounds, but trust me, me and my fellow ~biologists~ had fun. We went to Batangas, DLSU's Marine Station to be exact, and had a little stroll on the beach whilst scouring the waters for some of that seaweed. Trust me, you may think that seaweed just looks like a bunch of leaves floating in the water, there are actually different types of it. And we had to identify them all!
It didn't just stop at algae, though. We were even able to find new friends from the sea, like a jellyfish, a bunch of sea cucumbers, and even a little crab! A ladybug also found its way into one of our Ziploc bags, and we named it after our Prof (Hi, Sir Jordan).
Mr. Krabs' cute relative.
Overall, it was a fun experience. Biology has always been close to my heart and engaging in activities like these, especially with my friends alongside me, just makes me more passionate about my course.
Here are a few photos I got to take before my camera died:
