College. The stepping stone into my future. The make it or break it. This is it.
I took four entrance exams for the top four colleges here in the Philippines, namely: University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University, and Ateneo de Manila University. I also took the entrance test for my high school's equivalent in Manila, Assumption College in San Lorenzo. Suprisingly, I got into all five schools. I wasn't even expecting to pass UP since the UPCAT is the most competitive entrance exam there is. Hell I even got into the Manila campus (by Manila I mean UP Manila, not Diliman because I didn't apply there) and the cut-off score there is higher compared to UP Visayas (which is nearer to where I live).
Choosing among the four best schools in my country was not an easy task. I had to consider the location, the expenses, the courses I got, and of course, the quality of education.
I almost went for UP. Of course, who wouldn't? It's arguably the best of the best. Only those with the greatest minds go to school here. But, due to unfortunate circumstances, my acceptance letter which was needed for me to reserve my slot, arrived a day before my flight to Manila for my DLSU confirmation.
And so, La Salle it is. I couldn't complain -- DLSU has always been my dream school. I don't know how, and I don't know when. All I know is I've always wanted to be an Archer. And now here I am. Officially enrolled, officially a Lasallian.
This is it, I guess.
